For a standard rigid-face cabinet, the typical kit contents include four frame pieces pre-mitered to the ordered dimensions, corner angles, retainer pieces, and an assembly instruction guide. Exact components vary by cabinet style and configuration.
Instead of pulling from full lengths, setting up the saw, measuring, cutting, and mitering each frame piece, the shop can move directly into assembly.
With the material already cut to size, many kits can be squared and ready to weld in under five minutes after unboxing. Across a run of repeat cabinets, that reduction in setup and preparation time can add up quickly.
Kits make the most sense when a shop builds the same or similar cabinets consistently and wants to reduce in-house cutting and preparation.
When to Use Full Lengths
Full-length extrusions are a better fit when the work is more custom.
If the shop is producing different cabinet sizes, changing configurations from job to job, or handling one-off builds, full lengths provide the flexibility to cut and adapt the material as needed.
